i'll probably always mourn the childhood friendship i never got to have closure on, but i've accepted that i did what i could to try and get closure, and that's all i could do.
I understand this heartbreak all too well because I also went through the exact same with a person I thought would be a lifetime friend. I saw the distancing happen gradually and I tried to do anything and everything to keep it alive. But I got exhausted and finally let go.
The grief takes its time with you. But I promise you, it will get better. 💕
Ahh Nobuhle that was it exactly, being exhausted and finally letting go, unsure of what the hell you were holding onto in the first place. Thanks, love!

That’s all we can do, right? Get to a place of acceptance for our peace. The stages of grief aren’t linear so its okay to navigate between them.
100%! it's not linear and has no time limit.
I love what you've written here; a lot of it felt very familiar. You've reminded me, indirectly, to be kinder to myself. Thank you for your words.
Thank you, Jeannie. And yes, please be kind to yourself.

Girl the way I could write a whole friendship series again lol

Hey Ashleigh,
