I so loved this post, Ashleigh. This is about the 5th time that Julia Cameron's book has come up for me in the past week and this particular aspect of the Shadow Artist is very potent. So grateful for your claimed and declaring your birthright here! Inspiring and hopeful to it will help me to do so for myself soon ~

Thank you Beth Anne! I've had the book for years and each time I went to start it something held me back. I do believe now is the perfect time for me to be diving in and I'm happy to be doing it, it's such an eye-opener.

Gosh, I can hear some of my own thoughts in this so deeply. My husband and I were talking just last night about why I never went out for a play or wrote before now. Meanwhile, I admired from afar. “Not for you” I’d hear in my ear.

Thank you Ashleigh! When you said “A creative life was not mine to have,” I felt that deeply because I once believed that so deeply about myself! I adore the creative space you are intentionally building!

And, thank you for sharing my “Hope Note” with your community as well! We were definitely synced up creatively this week! The quote I used from Julia Cameron is even also from The Artist Way!

Wow, this is poignant and resonates so deeply! I recently read that same passage from Julia Cameron's book and had to sit with similar relizations and a mourning period as well. I'm so proud to be here and reading this post feels so affirming and inspiring. So happy you claimed your birthright. Rooting you on as you step more into your light!
