Thank you for this. As someone who has struggled to love a sibling through their depression out of not understanding the experience, only years later to find myself in postpartum depression and feel like a burden to my husband and those around me. This is so necessary 🤎

Whew, postpartum is a whole other beast and could have its own post for sure. I hope you were and are still surrounded by so much love and grace.

You’ve described so much that resonates with me and my experience—as a depressed person and as a friend to depressed people (bc we all have different experiences). Thank you for this. 🫶🏾

Yes we can all experience things so differently so I tried to be general to cover a wide range of folks. Thank you!

Thank you. We’ve been going through this with our teen daughter, and I also navigated it my entire childhood with a depressed parent. Your writing gave me a couple of lightbulb moments. ❤️

Didn't even know I needed to read this. I've kinda stopped trying to have romantic relationships because of this but it gets lonely. I'll save this to forward to my next person. Thank you

Yes, I often thought my own struggles would keep me from finding or keeping a mate and that hasn't been the case. I hope your next person is able to love you through it.
