“I’m not flaky. I didn’t know I would be mentally under the weather when it came time to hang.” THIS. I love this wording. Thinking about myself as flaky is one of my favorite ways to self-flagellate when I'm not up to socializing because of my mental health. This is such a better framing.

Yes! It’s always good to reframe how we think about and talk to ourselves. And using a symptom of our disorder to explain our action or inaction isn’t making excuses for ourselves.

I don`t want to cause hurt, but maybe you can read my posts Beauty and Last. Tell me what you think about the logic, methodology, and rhetoric surrounding mental illness/disorders. Respectfully, lovingly, pills with effects on the brain can`t be stopped suddenly or too fast.
